From the Editor in Boots:
Long before it showed up on shelves, palaka was workwear. Worn by Hawaiian paniolo who spent their days in the saddle and their nights close to it.
It wasn’t chosen for how it looked.
It was chosen because it held up. This is the kind of piece that carries that forward—simple, durable, and built to be worn, not kept.
We came across this one and kept coming back to it. That usually tells us what we need to know.
From the Maker:
A palaka is a classic two-color plaid, traditionally woven in white with blue, brown, or red. This Palaka “Nui” (meaning large or great) takes this iconic pattern to the next level—doubling the size of the plaid and blending white with at least two additional colors, often inspired by the original palaka palette. Unlike traditional yarn-dyed fabrics, this version uses an artisanal print technique, opening up endless possibilities for color and scale.
- Original print, crafted with artisanal printing—expect unique color variations
- Cowboy Cloth: lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, and tough enough to resist wrinkles
- 60% cotton / 40% polyester blend
- Reverse print design for a pop of character
- Long sleeves, tailored fit, pearl snaps, and classic shoulder yokes
- Built for performance from sea to snow, beach to bar
- Imported
A fresh take on a timeless style—made for cowboys, adventurers, and anyone who appreciates a little tradition with a modern twist.
